Traditionally known as a balneological centre, the first mud-cure establishment was built here in 1902 after the curing properties of its unique mud had been proved. It is also a salt-mining centre; fruits, vegetables and wine producer.

The Pomorie Bay is popular for its yachting and sailing and it is a favourite for local fishermen. Pomorie is close to the city of Bourgas, Sunny Beach and Nessebar where visitors can experience the nightlife and great entertainment.

Today, the main occupation of its citizens is tourism. An abundance of affordable restaurants and taverns, bars and modern night clubs are just some of the reasons why tourists are attracted to this captivating destination.

For those seeking relaxation there are beautiful tourist spots, horse riding, biking, natural mineral springs, balneology, healing spas and more.

Visitors to the Black Sea Coast can enjoy the cleanliness of the numerous beaches as the majority of Bulgarian beaches have been awarded the EU Blue Flag for their environmental excellence.
